OUR PLAN

What we hope to accomplish:

We are hoping to build upon research into the various factors of implementing a food preservation system for the people of Sierra Leone.

Why we want to do this:

Previous classes started to develop a product that could help to lower the rate of foodborne illness in Sierra Leone. We are able to pick up where they left off and further look into means of preserving food. Hopefully, we can use part of their plan to create a cost efficient, safe packaging that serves the communities needs.

How we plan to achieve this:

We want to use the skills and fields of our team members to generate a new plan of action. Anita is a Nutrition major and hopes to apply her passion in furthering public health advancements. Kat is an Anthropology and Geography major that wants to encourage cultural competency as technical innovations are made. Tyler wants to use his Agricultural Business perspective to find the most efficient and effective way to implement these new packaging technologies. Our team member, Christopher Tom, is a fifth year Industrial Technology and Packaging major. He has a passion for creating unique user experiences through responsible and sustainable design. With his expertise in packaging, we hope to combine new and sustainable technologies in the packaging field with the technologies developed by previous groups.
