In late 2015, the UN finished a nearly 20 year long development effort aimed to stabilize and empower the government and people of Sierra Leone.
Sierra Leone has a wealth of valuable natural resources but a civil war in 2001 destroyed many of the countries institutions. The country is currently working towards rebuilding it's infrastructure with hopes of resuming its export of natural minerals.
